TV pitch for the year 2020: A couple goes shopping for a new stove and finds one they like at a reasonable price and buys it

When I was in my 20s, I used to watch crime dramas all the time. Dexter. Criminal Minds. All the CSIs. All of them. But, I don’t know, at some point, I just got tired of them. I was bored of watching people getting killed literally every episode. We get it. It’s a crime drama. People die. I just wanted something different.

So, lately, I’ve been more into shows where, you know, several people don’t die in every episode. I’ve realized after all those years of drowning my soul in gritty crime dramas filled with murder that I much prefer light-hearted feel good shows filled with love and laughter. Oh no. One day, I might end up with a Live Love Laugh sign hung in my living room. Well, I still watch shows like Breaking Bad and Mr. Robot. I just don’t want to surround myself with fictional dead bodies at all times.

I have gathered a selection of my favorite TV shows, movies and books where no one dies. OK. OK. There are a few deaths in Parks and Rec, but it’s all off screen, and it’s not like an episode of Fringe where there are shapeshifter assassins wreaking havoc. Yes, they’re a thing. :p

I have suggested some of these in previous posts, but they also fit here, so I;m them in this post as well. If I can post a Michelle Branch video in seven posts, I can suggest the same thing more than once. :p

  1. I have not watched any of these shows before. I’ve heard a lot about Parks and Rec. My favorite clip is probably the treat yo’ self one haha. Thanks for sharing!

  2. Great list! I have also been feeling more in the mood for very light shows. I’ve watched a couple of these but not all, so excited to check them out. We just finished Brooklyn 99 – would highly recommend it! Schitt’s Creek and Impractical Jokers are also good for lighter and funny shows.

  3. I love Parks And Recreation, it’s such a great show. The types of shows I watch just depend on how I feel at the moment. Right now I am binge watching Dragon Ball Z.

  4. I haven’t seen any of these myself but some of them sound interesting!

I don’t mind some dark stuff, but I prefer lighter stuff too.
